OK, I must have been living under a rock but I just learned that apparently SpongeBob has a new musical in Chicago’s Oriental Theatre which closed last month but is expected to move to Broadway come 2016-17. Yes, it’s a real thing, written by Cyndi Lauper and David Bowie (who lent his unpublished songs to the show before his passing). When I first caught wind of it, the first image that popped into my head was Pokemon Live!...y’know, actors in horrifically bad Pokemon suits.
